Being the mother of two straddling young lads, I am always running out of new ideas to keep them entertained. Weekends can be an anarchy if the young ones aren’t allowed to let loose once in a while. Restaurants cannot be the only option because that just involves a lot of sitting around and waiting for food and kids – they just love to run, fall and then run some more again. Below I am listing a few fun places that I have found over the years where you can take your kids out over a weekend to let those playful energies run wild like they were always meant to!
1. Explore the rooms inside Hatiyan Jhad and relive a little folklore
The Hatiyan Jhad near Golconda Fort is an absolute must visit for the school going kids. Not only is it one of the largest trees in the country legend says that it used to be the hiding place of Alibaba and his band of forty thieves.
2. Get enchanted by the Night Sky at Birla Planetarium
A little bit of learning and a little bit of magic. The daily sky shows are not just an educational experience but also the best way to captivate hyperactive young minds for over 30 minutes.
3. Enjoy the sheer thrill of Go Karting at Runway 9
This one solely attributes to me being the mother of two young boys. Go Karting at Runway 9 is an absolute delight and the perfect way to keep your littles ones thrilled and engaged for an entire day out.
4. Host a birthday party at the Jump zone, Madhapur
This one is for parents with toddlers and kids just starting school. With clean and safe indoor play areas and inflatable equipment, this has to be one of the most ideal places to host a kids birthday party.
5. Baby Elephant Farm
This is our little paradise away from the city. Baby Elephant farm is definitely an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday city life and a great place to spend an afternoon amongst nature. Carry your picnic baskets and enjoy the slow pace of life here where your kids get a chance to spend time with animals and learn more about how their food is being grown. Win -win for all.
In case I have missed your favourite weekend hangout spot with your kids, please do mention so in the comments so that we all learn a little more about our favourite city.
